Baby Q

In June, Grandparents Florez and McIntosh, Aunt Jackie and Uncle Justin and our close friends Nate, Shannon and Baby Sloan, were all nice enough to offer to throw us a Baby Q. What is a Baby Q you ask? Well it is pretty much a BBQ with a big pregnant lady and no games! Our friends and family collaborated and threw Jason and I one of the most amazing parties I have ever attended.

Grandpa and Grandma McIntosh were sweet enough to host the Baby Q in their beautiful backyard in Windsor! They rented the most amazing round tables that had umbrella's attached to them so no one had to sit in the sun. The chairs were even amazing, they were the nice wooden ones with comfortable pads on them, super fancy! They also, made some of the most delicious food.

On the tables were the most incredible centerpieces I have ever seen! Jackie my sweet heart of a sister-in-law created them herself. She even hiked into a treacherous natural area to pick fresh accents to compliment the sunflowers!

Oh, speaking of sunflowers the colors for the Baby Q were a sunflower yellow and a beautiful blue.

Grandma and Grandpa Florez got super creative as well! Granny Janny (PS: i'm teasing Janis by calling her this:) hand carved a baby stroller out of a watermelon and filled it with a variety of fresh fruit. I know super cool.
They also helped fill everyone's belly by making yummy items to add to the menu and decorated the food table with beautiful flowers. Grandpa refinished the most amazing cradle he even used Bee's Wax as a safe and natural finishing agent.

Grandpa Mitch (Don) manned the grill with Grandpa Skippy. Man I think they're missing there calling, the burgers were so good.
Shannon and Nate were not only adjusting to having there own beautiful baby, but they took a ton of time out to create an awesome sign in table! There was a hand drawn tree with no leaves and as guests arrived they would finger print there thumb and sign there name below. I can't wait to see the tree all signed and framed. Shannon also hunted down some super unique fabric squares and encouraged guest to draw pictures and write a message to Baby Flo! Shannon is working on getting all the fabric squares quilted into a custom baby blanket!

I can't leave out Uncle Justin, he was a life saver as the set-up and take down crew. That is no easy task!  He went above and beyond the call of duty that and made sure eveything looked just perfect.
We also had the most amazing dessert table themed "She's About to Pop." Everything had something to do with Popping. Grandma Diane made some amazing popcorn balls as well as cupcake pops and I pitched in with some cake pops. Shannon and Nate had the most amazing cookies made and after struggling with the elements made the balloon sign behind the table.
We had such an amazing time, thank you to everyone who came and celebrated with us! Also a big thanks to all of our friends and family who put everything together for us!

Baby Flo's Natural Nursery

Baby Flo's nursery is all complete! We are so excited to share it with everyone. I love that there is so many personal touches in most of the furniture and design in the room

The dresser is one of my favorites it was an antique find from Good Will. Jason fixed it up and the changing table on top was a hand-me-down from when Erika (Jason's sister) and Jason were babies.

The orange book shelf was a 50 dollar treasure from an antique store in Fort Collins! Jason sanded it down, added a few coats of paint and distressed the wood. I love it!

The hanging shelves are handmade by our soon to be Dad as well! He constructed them out of palates that we picked up from our paper vendors warehouse. He even stained them to match the bottom of the crib and the dresser! The books are a gathering of my old books from when I was a baby (Berenstain Bear books & Adventures in the Dark) and new books from our friends and family.

The dog prints behind the crib, were my idea:) I found three silhouettes that looked similar to our three favorite furry friends; Allie, Cooper and Hana. I then had a vendor/friend of ours print and stretch the canvas around a frame. Oh and our wonderful designer at Alphagraphics made sure the colors and silhouettes looked just perfect before sending them off to print!

Some of the art hanging behind the orange storage shelf are very special to Jason. The horse and the bird where both painted by his Grandfather. We duplicated the pictures and changed the color on the horse to match the nursery colors!

The mobile we hand made out of some fun scrap book paper and wooden dowels.
